Driver officially declined the new project. His decision stemmed from Dunham's unfavorable descriptions of his set behavior. In a Friday interview with CinemaBlend, he stated, „No, but I wish them the best.” Dunham's Account Dunham hinted at his possible absence in her 2026 memoir, „Famesick.”She described their relationship as complex. She claimed he threw a chair near her during 2010 filming. She also mentioned instances of verbal aggression on set. She has not contacted Driver since the 2017 HBO finale.
Relationship Dynamics
In a People discussion, Dunham noted two types of relationships with Driver. One was on-screen; the other was in real life. Driver avoided comment during his Cannes press events. He stated he would keep all details for his forthcoming book.
Casting Updates
Andrew Rannells is scheduled to reprise his role as Elijah. However, details about other original cast members returning remain unconfirmed.
Production Outlook
The five-episode reboot begins next summer. Beyond the four leads and Rannells, plot details are scarce. The revival keeps the original team but faces past tension between the creator and Driver.
