The highly anticipated third part of the Netflix action franchise has reached a key production milestone. Chris Hemsworth, returning as Tyler Rake, announced on his Instagram account that filming for „Extraction 3” has officially wrapped. The actor posted images from Thailand, where a significant portion of the production took place, highlighting both the filming sessions and the physical training he undertook in the country. This update follows earlier reports that the film would be shot partially in Australia and Europe.

From a creative standpoint, Sam Hargrave returns to the director’s chair. Joe Russo joins as producer and co-screenwriter alongside David Weil. Production began in July 2026. Now that filming has wrapped, attention shifts to post-production stages. Although Hemsworth has not shared plot details or a release date, the confirmation of completed filming is major news for fans of the series.
Returning Cast and New Faces
The cast extends beyond the lead star. Golshifteh Farahani returns as Nik Khan, Tyler’s mercenary partner and a central character from the first two films. Idris Elba repeats his role as Alcott, introduced in „Extraction 2.” Meanwhile, Don Lee plays Tygo, a mercenary with a history as a child soldier. Other confirmed names in the cast include Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Parry, Siena Agudong, and Pierce Brosnan.
The project is produced by AGBO, the production company of brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, in collaboration with Wild State and T. G. I. M Films. This action film is just one of several lead roles Hemsworth is set to play in the near future. In December of the current year, he returns as Thor in „Avengers: Doomsday,” a production marking his 11th appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Simultaneously, the actor is involved in two other projects: the action thriller „Subversion” and the crime thriller „Kockroach,” both currently in post-production.
