Who Else Ranks Above Her?
Chun-Li, the Interpol agent and kung-fu master, starred in the 2026 live-action Street Fighter film. Played by Callina Liang, she faced a smaller role than fans anticipated. Despite limited screen time, her brief appearances matched her in-game reputation as the strongest woman in the world.

Why Does This Matter for the Film?
Several other characters in the Street Fighter universe surpass Chun-Li in raw power. Akuma, the dark alter ego of Gouki, commands overwhelming destructive energy. M. Bison, the galactic tyrant, wields psychic force and energy blasts. Vega, the Silver Samurai, moves at blinding speed. Balrog, the demon, controls fire and shadow. These five fighters consistently outclass Chun-Li in the games’ power hierarchy.
The film’s choice to downplay Chun-Li’s role raises questions about its creative direction. Fans who followed the marketing campaign may feel the final product diverged from the promised tone. The decision reflects a broader trend in recent adaptations to shift focus toward ensemble casts rather than a single protagonist.
Is Chun-Li the strongest character in Street Fighter? No. While she is the strongest woman in the games, several male characters like Akuma, M. Bison, Vega, and Balrog rank above her in overall power.
