A Tulsa King Villain Moves to Marshals: A Startling Taylor Sheridan Repetition

Success on streaming and major network television is currently dominated by Taylor Sheridan's projects. He now backs two major productions: the CBS series Marshals and the mafia series Tulsa King, featuring Sylvester Stallone. However, the two shows now share a tighter connection. Beau Knapp, who played a villain in Tulsa King, is set to join Marshals for Season 2. His new role sounds nearly identical to his previous character.

According to a TVLine report published on October 27, Knapp will appear in Marshals starting with Season 2, airing from November 22. In this new role, he plays Eric. Eric is described as an intense leader of a suspicious agricultural cult. The cult is suspected of managing a large fake alcohol operation. The character is a big manipulator with a god complex. He stays oddly calm in tense situations. He reads vulnerable people well. He uses their weaknesses to control them.

For those who followed Tulsa King, this description feels familiar. In that series, Knapp played Cole Dunmire. Cole was a young, ambitious man. He wanted his father Jeremiah Dunmire's affection. He used violence if necessary. In Tulsa King Season 3, Cole stole a valuable 50-year-old bourbon. It belonged to mafia boss Dwight Manfredi. This act triggered a massive shootout. It put Dwight in danger. Cole managed a bingo fraud. He later switched sides. He revealed his father's violent plan to explode a hotel.

Both characters, Cole and Eric, compare easily. Both are involved in alcohol operations. Both defend their territory with a tough image. Tulsa King Season 3 adopted a rural Southern theme. The Dunmire family spoke with Southern accents. Banjo music ran through most episodes. This fit the Dixie Mafiaconcept. Montana is not a Southern state. But it embodies a similar rural aspect. Eric will represent this as a cult leader.

Questions arise about Cole Dunmire's fate

Questions arise about Cole Dunmire's fate in Tulsa King. His father Jeremiah died in a brutal fire scene at Season 3's end. Cole survived until the season's end. He switched sides after a dispute over his father's bourbon inheritance. Knapp was in the Season 3 cast. It is unclear if he appears in Season 4.

Cole betrayed his father in Tulsa King Season 3. He revealed his father's plans to kill members of Dwight's crew. He also revealed where Dwight's sister Joanne was held. Though Cole seems allied with the Manfredi mafia, his future is uncertain. He may join the crew or remain part of the story. Cole was a minor problem for Dwight after his friend's plane crashed. A new governor is also coming against the mafia in Tulsa King Season 4.

For Knapp fans, Marshals seems the safest bet to see him again. Taylor Sheridan is known for recycling actors across projects. However, no villain has been recycled so similarly as Beau Knapp. He moves from Cole Dunmire in Tulsa King to Eric in Marshals. No Taylor Sheridan villain has had enough story opportunities to continue in two current seasons of two successful shows. Welcome to Taylor Sheridan's hall of fame, Beau Knapp.
